For the month of January, the theme of this site is an exploration of the energy of home.
Home as a sacred container in which we feel comfortable resting, creating, connecting, experimenting, celebrating.
Home as a physical body that transports us throughout our day, host to our heart, mind and soul.
Home as Mother Earth…as Universe...this place where we live.
Home as a heart experience not specific to a physical location….a feeling of comfort, safety, security, bliss.
As we feel into this energy together, you may find yourself quite comfortable with the exploration, you may find yourself at an edge. It is my request that you share from the space that you are in with an understanding that your perspective and experience enriches the quality and feel of this exploration, for all whom read and walk these energetic steps together.
Today, I am delighted to share this Facets space with Lamisha Serf!

It’s Good to Be Home
by Lamisha Serf
As a child, I understood home to be where I laid my head at night. It was the space I returned to after a long day at school and the place where my family resided.
It was a physical, tangible space, that while not always comfortable, was where I spent most of my time.
As I grew older and moved from ‘home’ to a college dorm and then eventually into my own apartment, my definition of home changed. It was no longer the space in which I grew up or where my family resided, but quickly became more of a comfort zone of sorts.
Home transformed from a tangible space into an energetic, palpable feeling of comfort and ease that I could take with me if the circumstances were right.
My concept of home grew as I ventured into the unknown, taking a leap of faith to move from Indiana to Tennessee for love. The feeling of comfort and ease grew bigger and continued to evolve to include a wide variety of experiences and people that made me feel, well…at home.
Life was good and the home I had carried with me 300+ miles was comfortable for the most part. I was settling into my work, my new space, and the life I was building with my soul mate and all was well, until one day it wasn’t.
I felt a pull in my soul that told me the comforts of home were about to change, yet again. The space of comfort and ease I had appreciated and enjoyed for so long was about to change drastically and so was my work.
I realized in that moment that it was now time for me to venture into yet another adventure and finally do the work I was meant to do, to inspire, uplift, and assist women on their journey to create the amazing lives they have always dreamt of.
It was my time to create that life for myself.
In those moments, I felt a tornado in my soul that turned my internal life upside down. My desire grew stronger and my dreams were calling me to grow and evolve in ways I had never experienced before. I longed for the warm, comforting feeling of home again, yet I knew the home I had experienced before was long gone and as I moved further on my path, I was building a new one, my true home, which is where I am today.
Over the years my idea of what home is and what it means to me has changed. It is no longer physical in nature, nor is it a fleeting feeling that can be easily blown away by a soft breeze. It is instead an alignment within my soul where I am authentic and living my truth completely.
Having redefined my home in the last year and the lessons that come with it, I can honestly say, it feels so good to finally be home.
