The Energy of a Heart Smile

When your heart is happy, you smile. Even if you are busy, in pain or afraid — when you feel love, gratitude, delight, wonder and/or awe, you smile. It’s natural.

There is nothing to do but to allow yourself to feel it! When you feel it fully, you laugh. When you laugh, others laugh, too.

In those moments, you feel utter peace regardless of external; all is well in the world and your heart smile affirms that to be so.

You are not ignoring whatever external is in your life, you are simply allowing your heart smile to say that ‘yes!’ in this moment, you believe and feel all to be well.

Let’s feel into this: if someone tells you a joke that you find funny, you laugh. Even if your leg is in a cast, your to-do list is half-done, you’re wearing braces that you’d rather not show, you just lost something or someone really special to you. You can’t help but laugh because your heart is delighted!

And, when you laugh – you are no longer feeling busy, in pain, afraid, because your attention is on your laughter!!!

This is an excerpt from an article  Sharing Your Heart Smile with World that I wrote this week for Vidya Sury’s blog.

In the rest of the article, I share reasons why people choose to hide their smile as well as simple ways to share your smile.

I Believe in Magic: 30 Day Photo Journey

The new session of I Believe in Magic: 30 Day Photo Journey begins this Sunday April 27, 2014. Our theme will be the exploration of the energy of *connection, creative expression and celebration*.

What invites the energy of magic into a moment?

Your sight and your heart.

Here is an example of the magic that was experienced and shared in the last session of class:

The intention of this class is to provide a forum to share magical moments.

The structure of this class is that of a sacred container, a space of unconditional love and gratitude, in which we all feel comfortable exploring and experimenting.  While cultivating the feel of magic daily, with awareness, we are in essence cultivating the feel of abundance and infinite possibility.  We understand that, in response, we may feel an energetic shift, perhaps opening new heart space and moving us into new physical space.

If, as you read these words and feel into the energy of the collage, your heart says “yes, please” then I hope you join us for this new session!

Sharing creative expressions makes my heart smile!

What lights your heart smile? Please share in the comments below.

Thank you for your presence!

Much peace and abundant love,

Joy

If the idea of shifting into presence to peace and possibility feels exciting to you, perhaps you may be interested in a Personal Laser Session. A laser session is a very direct, on-purpose sixty minute personal session in which we work together to energetically dissolve barriers and open to flow in spaces you may feel tender and/or stuck. For more information, and to schedule your session, please click the title link.

  1. Thank you Joy for putting a smile on my face :-)

You can rest assured that my smile is somewhat gentler than ‘Jack’s’ smile shown on the ‘Shinning’ poster inside the door at the top of the narrow staircase.

For your readers information I took this image at San Diego’s historic Ken Theater. I was allowed to go about in the small fantastically lit lobby before the next show time and try to capture a good photograph for the prompt of the day. The door to the upstairs office was uncommonly opened which allowed me to crouch down and pick up this sense of being drawn narrowly upward to ‘Jack’…or…”Here’s Johnny!”.

The image has gotten a great amount of views because of your class Joy…so thanks a lot. Unfortunately ‘The Ken’ will be closing it’s doors at the end of the month. It was only the 2nd theater that the national Landmark Theater chain started up with back in the 1970’s ‘The Ken’ itself is over 100 years old now. I saw Harold and Maude there back in the 1970’s. Has been the site for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, foreign films, and documentaries.

So indeed this photograph is *Magical*…

  2. …just want to add that the upstairs office was the projection room for the 16mm projector that is now on display in the lobby of The Ken.

  3. […] They helped keep my energy and faith high when I felt I was at rock bottom.) Any abusive gestures lobbed my way, I ignored, and in my head I repeated the phrase, "return to sender with love," as taught to me by Joy Holland of Facets of Joy. […]

  4. Hi Joy
    That IS a joyfull post!
It has set me thinking of smiles myself.
I wonder if smiles are actually visits by angels flitting across our lips?Lighting up our eyes?
It is also noticed that a lot of people tend to look upwards when they’re happy, smiling,or laughing.
I think that’s because of celestial connections.
    Thanks
    Mona

    • I love the name of your site, Mona – rich miracle files!

And, wow – what wonderful insight you are sharing here! Each line speaks right to my heart; sometimes when I am laughing I put a hand over my heart to feel that burst of love. It does feel *divine*. I hadn’t thought about it though; your words make perfect sense – *celestial connections*. I do have a photo affirmation that I have created along the lines of *joy is a soul smile*.

Thank you for taking the time to share this reflection – may you have a week full of unexpected delight!
