There is a Candle in Your Heart

IMG_0044

There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don’t you?
You feel the separation from the Beloved.
Invite Him to fill you up, embrace the fire.
Remind those who tell you otherwise that
Love
comes to you of its own accord,
and the yearning for it
cannot be learned in any school. – Rumi

Yesterday morning, to celebrate my son’s 16th birthday and the opening of Walk Your Heart Path with Joy (a three-month intensive), I lit a candle of intention (the one above).

I cleared my sacred space of an altar of everything but this one candle.

(Clearing space physically also opens our hearts energetically.)

I promised myself I would allow it to burn completely down – taking with it any doubts, fears and discouragement I might have been holding from the past.

As fears dissolved, I felt ‘not enough’ arise – and then it was replaced by more than plenty and a sense of freedom. The key to this practice is to breathe through the fear so that you may experience whatever enlivening feelings await for you on the other side.

As the candle burned, I streamed words from my heart into my journal.

Here I am, Universe:  open, ready. I clearly know the next step but I clearly do not know what steps to take after that one.

So, I released the fear around that not knowing. Take it, take all of it. Please. (Thank you!)

As I took a deep, cleansing breath, in swooped excitement and joy!

I invited Source energy into each space of my body and soul, of my home and business, of my connections and creations. There are some really messy spaces, some spaces that are far less than perfect, some spaces with shadow buried beneath layers and lots of clean, open spaces waiting patiently for Source energy to fill them up.

Have you done that? Invited Source energy into each space of your life? It might feel overwhelming to think about (mind tends to resist new ideas that may potentially open us to vulnerability) but it’s incredibly peaceful and refreshing. And simple. (Practices of presence can be *this simple*.)

I invite you to try it now, if you’d like.

Simply open your arms wide as can be, take a very deep breath in….and release it….

Open your hands and say your version of “Source energy, I invite you into each and every space of my life – thank you for shining light, love and gratitude into each space”

Then take another deep breath and relax.

When I speak of peace and possibility, people assume (and perhaps you are one of them) that these practices are time-consuming or for ‘folks on mountain-tops’ but, truly,  shifting energy is as ‘easy’ as taking one moment to ‘stop doing’ and simply be….the divine essence of you (even if – maybe especially if – in that moment you aren’t feeling magnificently divine).

It is one thing to read the above poem and think ‘oh, how nice for Rumi’; quite another to *feel the energy and passion* in each phrase. then to open to invite that energy into your life and experience it, here, as you are.

Pure love and joy! And that is what I wish for you.

Dear Reader: How do you feel about inviting Source energy into each space of your life? Is this something familiar and comfortable to you? Are their spaces that you have closed off to Source energy? (when you share, you inspire)

Much peace and abundant love,

Joy

Reminder: Linger. Savor. Relish.

When I asked if there were areas of my life that were closed off to Source Energy, the answer I got was “the places where fear guards the door are the places closed to Source Energy.” So it seems that I will need to look at the places in my life where there is fear and clear that up in order to have energy flowing in those areas. Does that sound right to you, Joy?

    • Thank you for sharing, Jean. The paradox seems to be that inviting Source energy into those space naturally dissolves fear – but, we often choose not to invite Source energy in, *until* fear dissolves.

What will ‘happen’ if we invite Source energy into those spaces? We will no longer have barriers; while that sounds amazing on paper, sometimes mind is so afraid of the newness of infinite possibility that it keeps those barriers pretty strong. Because I enjoy playing with energy, I invite ‘a bit’ of Source energy into one little ‘closed’ space – ‘sort of easing my way’, so my being can get used to the newness and keep opening. How does that feel, Jean?

Joy, that feels exactly right! I will see if I can invite Source Energy into one of those little spaces and see what happens from there. <3
