Sunset, Moon and Soul Expansion

nov-5-sunset

‘When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon,

my soul expands in the worship of the creator.’

– Mahatma Gandhi

nov-5-moon-rise

Tonight, as I stood at ocean’s edge, sun set in front of me while almost full moon rose directly behind me.

From such a space, it would be almost *impossible* to forget who I am and what I am made of – who *you* are and what you are made of.

Whatever was in my day simply melts away, as I stand there basking in the reflection of night-sky. My heart opens with love and joy – gratitude comes swooshing in, overflowing in the form of tears filling my eyes and silently, slowly gliding down my cheek. (That gratitude infuses each of my steps, my creative expressions and my connections.)

Grace carefully wipes away anything not resonant with love – so refreshing and peaceful.

Who am I to stand there? Who am I not to?

I put myself there, intentionally time and again. I want to feel this way each and every day.

When it comes to love and light, the only limits, expectations and judgments belong to us. We cannot possibly ‘take too much’. Nor can we be too much (or too little). Nor can we drain an infinite supply.

We certainly do not have to ‘earn, deserve, sacrifice for, bear a burden, or negotiate to receive it’.

We may simply choose to be present to it, in a way that is comfortable and easy, to receive it in.

Dear Reader: What is one of your favorites ways / practices / rituals to ‘worship’ creator / Source energy? (when you share, you inspire)

Thank you for your presence!

Much peace and abundant love,

Joy

  1. I love this message!

in fact, I was trying to find something I might define as my favorite way, but I can’t. In fact, I have no ritual to do, nothing I do, but something I am? I don’t know if what I’m saying makes sense, but I just respect everything and everyone in the universe, because everything is the Creator. To those who reply saying how can you respect or say that all the criminals are also created by God, my answer is that they are, but their actions and choices are their own

    • So beautiful, Nikky44 – *something I am* speaks right to me as well as this *I just respect everything and everyone in the universe, because everything is the Creator.*

In my journey, there were moments I couldn’t feel that I was love and light (because my mind said if I was such, why would abuse exist in different forms?) – I understand now, but then, that was my feeling. So, standing in the reflection of sunset allowed me to feel that love and light, literally, and soon energetically. I know that we don’t ‘need’ rituals – as you have shared here, your experience is cellular and a heart-truth.

Your response about ‘criminals’ resonates well with me. I would add to that in my point of view, we have a choice to create and connect with love or fear and sometimes people choose fear. The natural consequences of disconnect (and also sometimes society’s legal measures) add to their pain.

I know I sound like a broken record, but walking the hills in Charlottesville listening to spiritual CDs does wonders for me as far as giving me perspective as to who I am and how I relate to the world. If I could walk at ocean’s edge, I would LOVE that, too! The other thing that is magic for me is writing poems because I am an image maker and a word lover and a big time explorer of inner landscapes!

    • If *you* sound like a broken record, so do I, Jean! *grin* It’s your heart-truth, so yes, please keep sharing – different people read and it’s new to them! Your poems are *amazing*, I am so glad that you write and share them (as is your art!!).

  3. Walking does it for me too. The beauty all around me always puts me back in the zone of gratitude, ease, faith. Hugging works well too, actually. :) I would love to have the sunset on the ocean just a breath away!

    • So much of what you share inspires me, Maryse – whatever medium you choose. And, yes, to hugging!!!

I share my sunset over the ocean photos so people who don’t have that treat nearby can feel into the energy, if they wish. I love looking at glimpses of world through others photos – especially seasons that we don’t experience here, and wildlife that is not local.

Thank you, Joy! I was afraid I was being redundant :) and boring :)
Glad to know that is not the case :)
