28 Days of Love: Friendship

This morning I had a wonderful chat with a dear friend via Skype.

(I love technology by the way, so much talk about how it constricts and distracts…technology has expanded my world–literally and figuratively–thank you, Technology!).

I received a few emails from people whom I love dearly.

And, I am preparing to spend a weekend of connection with my children and various friends.

So, I took some time to think about friendships.

I look at my life today and I am surrounded by people who inspire me, simply because they choose to live their truth, and share the adventure through photos and words; what they reflect invites me to continue to live my own truth.

I am surrounded by people who listen.  They listen to my body language and my silence as deeply as they do my words.  They feel into, and beyond, my words.

I am surrounded by people who understand the reason I practice, move, create, love, and share as I do.  They might not always agree, but they support and encourage and celebrate with me.

I am surrounded by people who are full of passion and moxie, who are able to ‘move mountains’ when they wish to, and to rest and refresh after they move them.

I am surrounded by people who enjoy creating–the moment, an experience, or in some artistic way.

I am surrounded by people who love fully, deeply, with awareness and presence.

I am surrounded by people who are so incredibly generous in spirit, and with material possessions; they readily share time, energy, and resources with those in their life and/or global World.

I am surrounded by people who choose to celebrate the moment; to embrace it fully as they cultivate the feel of abundance.

I am surrounded by people who laugh, sing, dance, play, “goof-off”.

My heart fills with Love and Gratitude for these connections.

When you read my story, you can see this experience is quite new for me.

We can tell ourselves that something is impossible, and it remains impossible.

We can tell ourselves that we are conditioned and it is difficult to change, and it will be.

We can step out in faith, trusting that presence to flow is enough as our heart whispers continue to unfold and blossom.

Thank you for your presence, in this space, and in my life!

I believe that each connection is perfectly placed; each reflection inspires, enriches, enlivens; each energetic step is in sync, and resonant with, love, joy, and gratitude.

May I ask, how do you feel about the connections in your life?  Have you shared your appreciation?

Much peace and abundant love,

Reminder: Linger. Savor. Relish.

Hi Joy, my friends and family have always been first in my life, and the older I get, the more important and essential those folks are! My animals (mostly cats) are important even though I am allergic to them and have to get shots and keep myself extremely healthy (not a bad thing) in order to have them. And my on-line friends are ESSENTIAL to my joy and to keeping me on target with my spiritual growth!! I am so happy that I have connected with some of the dearest, sweetest, smartest, most loving people on the planet through the internet! We share our spirits here and it helps me to grow spiritually to be connected! I am so grateful to YOU and to ALL of my on-line friends—–I love YOU ALL :)

    • Thank you, Jean, for your enthusiasm and vibrant spirit! Thank you for your presence here and energetically in life! Your energy enlivens and enriches and is such a gift for all whom you connect with!

  2. Hugs to you, Joy! Thank you for being my friend. Love to you, my inspiring friend!

    • Thank you, Vidya, for the gift of your friendship! I love all that you reflect and share; your energy is enriching and enlivening…your photos are beautiful, your messages remind me to stretch and to celebrate. Thank you!

  3. hi Joy, the more grateful and appreciative I am of the connections in my life, the more I enjoy the people that show up in my life. Lately, every person I meet shows up for the right reason and purpose. I might not know what is but I feel deep down they are coming into my life for a particular reason. The connections have been timely, inspiring and a pleasant welcome.

Also, the more work I do on myself and the more clarity I find in my life, the more clarity I find in my friendships – more meaning, more reasons and more depth with the special connections in my life.

    • Thank you, Vishnu, for your presence to this piece—each line in your comment is special on its own, the entire message is an affirmation for connection. I find myself nodding in affirmation as I read, and re-read, your words. If there was a course on connection, this “should be” the introductory paragraph…perhaps that is in your future?

I agree, people are perfectly placed *and* the more inner work I do, the more depth to my connections. Thank you, Vishnu! It is a pleasure to be getting to “know” you! I think you have much to teach through sharing your experiences.
