28 Days of Connection: Maria Bovin de Labbe

Welcome to Day Fifteen of this series!

It is a delight to introduce you to Maria Bovin de Labbe.

Here is an excerpt from Maria’s about page:

Maria is a passionate, soul inspired drummer and artist from Stockholm, Sweden.

She inspires others with the rhythms of her drumming and the heartbeats of her art.

Drumming is calling presence and connection with our own bodies.

She says: My mission is to play from the heart, to share something of the joy, strength and inspiration that I feel.

I met Maria through the Enchanted Entrepreneurs Circle . I was immediately drawn to her energy – her generous, fun spirit; kind heart; passion for drumming and arts and creative expression;  overall love of life. I feel her playful energy through the words she shares. If she lived locally, we would enjoy some wonderful times together!

I want to share Maria’s energy (and talent) with you, so here is a drum solo improvisation “You Inspire Me”.

Here are Maria’s answers:

1. What is your definition of love?

To care so much for a person that your heart gets warm when you think about her/him and you love her/him just as she/he is.

2.  What does it feel like when you are connected with love?

Warm, can be tingling but also just deeply calm and trusting. It can also give me a feeling of light freedom.

3. In your opinion, why would one choose to close to love? From that closed space, what is one practice or step a person could take to open to love again?

I think fear would be the only reason to close to love. Fear of losing or betrayal. That is kind of the price of Love, that we never know… We can never “own” another person but we can own our own feeling.

To open up again… I always like the idea of taking baby steps… Love doesn’t have to be so serious or huge. Love can be smiling to the neighbor, doing a small generous act for someone you don’t know or buying beautiful flowers for yourself.

4. How do you choose to cultivate love?

By showing love and setting my loved ones free. To adore my beloved ones – family and amazing friends.

5. May you share an experience of receiving unconditional love?

The first that came to my mind now was my cat :) We have a lot to learn from animals in this matter, I think. When my cat, Mercurius, greets me or come to my bed in the evening we look at each other and we just know that we love each other, right there in that moment and just because we are the ones we are. No need to do anything else than let Love be close.

6.  What would you like us to know about love?

I think Love starts with opening up for love and celebrating the little beautiful things  in life and life itself!
