New Moon: Planting Seeds of Intention

Happy New Moon!

The energy of New Moon is one of embrace, intention and infinite possibility. The natural power of New Moon invites you to set intentions, send your heart whispers soaring and manifest your desires.

While we may embrace, intend and manifest in each moment, every day; when we consider natural energies and tap into them, it makes amplifying energy and directing it with purpose a little easier.

We also don’t “need” readings, we may simply embrace, intend and manifest our heart whispers as we move through the day/month/year.

However, we may consider the astrological energies within a reading to act as signs and direction markers, if we wish.

In my personal practice, I vary my use of external readings.

If I am going to use a reading, I do so from a guide I am familiar with and trust, so I can focus on processing the material, knowing it is thorough and accurate. There are many guides and quite a lot of reflections one may tap into; I personally find it most effective to keep the incoming information simple by intentionally not reading tons of stuff.

I also believe that sometimes instead of relying upon our intuition and inner voice, we can lean on external sources, looking for affirmation and guidance instead of trusting what we feel. So, I ask you to remember when practicing presence and energy movement to turn all of that external information inward, exploring and integrating that which resonates and releasing that which doesn’t.

In my practice, when I use a reading, I will feel into the meaning, turn the reflections inward and journal or meditate to see if anything arises within. I tend to use readings to gather information as guidance for clients or if I am working on an unraveling an inner knot for myself; otherwise I don’t consider the readings at all, I simply celebrate Moon’s energy.

I love Kate’s energy and insights and look forward to receiving her weekly video tarot readings.

Here is this week’s reading for you to consider:

What stands out to me:

First, I love Kate’s delight about her cards – she enjoys the energy and feel of the physical cards and that’s an invitation to us to enjoy the tools we choose to work with in our day (whether that’s kitchen-ware, art supplies, gardening equipment, musical instruments – whatever they may be).

First Card: The energy of celebration. I take this as a reminder to celebrate each step – and to share that celebration with those whom you enjoy creating and connecting with.

Second Card:  Natural cycles and seasons. I apply this to the upcoming Mercury Retrograde which begins January 21st. We may begin to feel the presence of patterning, that we don’t always notice. Honor that some patterns no longer serve you and gently release them as you focus on practices of presence that help you to center as external shifts.

Third Card: ‘Coming together for a common cause.’ Perhaps you may consider sharing your natural skills and resources within a group setting to ‘make a change’ within community.

Excerpt from Mystic Mamma’s New Moon Supermoon in Aquarius:

via Kelly Rosano:

“All things are possible for you now when you trust your instincts. Lead by your intuition. Liberate your mind first and your freedom will follow…

The New Moon in Aquarius reminds you that you are the Star of your life. You are the Sun center of your universe. If your life is hard, look inside yourself and make the needed changes.

Coach yourself. Be honest. Where are you giving your power away? What are doing that sabotages your success? The change you want to see in the world begins with you. Change your mind. You change your life. See your challenges from a different perspective. See your challenges as opportunities for growth.”

I like this short video by Narayani.  (Because she has it embedded on her site, if you’d like to view it, you need to click the link.)  What Narayani shares is a reminder that this is the first new moon of the year (yay!!) so it’s a powerful one to amplify the intentions you’ve just set to open the year. Narayani also shares a local traditional practice of connecting to the land.

A New Moon Practice

On New Moon, I put my intentions on paper – either in word, paint, sketch (the idea is to capture the feeling). I bring the paper to the beach and bury it by ocean’s edge, then watch as water dislodges it from the sand and eventually carries it out to world.

Dear Reader: Do you have any takeaway’s from this month’s readings? What is one of your favorite ‘tools of creation’? And, what is one way that you choose to connect with the land (during New Moon, or any day). (when you share, you inspire)

Much peace and abundant love,
